Professional Supervision

 

Our professional supervision sessions are provided by Tara (they/them) who is an Accredited Social Worker and Sex Therapist, and is registered with both the Australian Association of Social Workers & Society of Australian Sexologists.

​

Tara’s supervision style is down-to-earth and practical, creating a collaborative and confidential space to understand and explore your professional identity. They blend evidence-based frameworks with their own professional experience to help you reflect on your work, navigate challenges, and build a practice that’s authentic, ethical and sustainable for the long term.

Tara has three years experience in the following roles as a Social Worker:
 

  • Case Management & Counselling - NFP Sector - Supporting young LGBTQIA+ people at high risk of domestic violence, homelessness, self harm and suicidality.

  • Group Facilitation - NFP Sector & Private Practice - Facilitating social groups for Autistic & ADHD'ers across the lifespan.

  • Capacity Building Social Work & Support Work - Disability Sector (NDIS) - Supporting people living with psychosocial, intellectual and learning and physical disabilities to navigate social welfare systems, build their functional capacity, engage with the community and understand their human rights.

  • Counselling - Private Practice - Providing counselling and therapeutic support utilising neurodivergent-affirming therapeutic modalities. Specialising in working with Autistic & ADHD'ers, queer & trans folks, and folks seeking support around sexuality, intimacy and healthy relationships.

Professional supervision with Tara can include, but is not limited to:

  • Trauma-Informed & Person-Centered Care: Exploring how to embed trauma-informed principles and truly person-centered approaches into your daily practice.

  • Role Clarity & Employee Rights: Understanding your role, scope of practice and rights in the workplace.

  • Personal Wellbeing & Boundaries: Addressing vicarious trauma, burnout prevention, and maintaining sustainable professional and personal boundaries.

  • Lived Experience Integration: Reflecting on how to ethically and effectively integrate your own lived experience into your professional role.

  • Private Practice: Navigating setting up your own private practice whilst still sticking to your values in this capitalist hellscape.
